My clinical practice is guided by the ethos

of a healing orientation over a pathological focus. As humans, we are innately hardwired towards healing and expansion. When we have been left alone in overwhelming emotional experiences, we create defenses that help us adapt to those circumstances. However, these can often become ‘maladaptive’ later on in life. Together, we use the therapeutic setting in order to cocreate safety and relational resonance. When we feel attuned to and secure, we are more easily able to lower our defenses that can be inhibiting. From this securely attached space, we can experientially, as in privileging bodily based affective experiences over stories, process through what was previously too overwhelming to experience. This relational processing allows the emergence of transformance (transformation) to organically occur, accessing our core Self. We are not wounded in isolation, and therefore cannot heal in isolation. Through the therapeutic dyad, I seek to create corrective experiences with my patients that promote their healing and growth.
